VISUAL NUMERICS APPOINTS NEW HEAD OF EUROPEAN SALES

BOULDER, Colo. -- Visual Numerics, Inc., a developer of web-enabled data visualization, numerical analysis and enterprise software solutions, today announced that Sandy Minella has assumed the role of European Sales Director. She had joined the company earlier this year as Sales Manager for both the UK direct sales territory and Visual Numerics' European-wide distributor channels. She will continue in such capacity until those job positions are filled.

Minella will have direct budgetary responsibility for all of Europe, and will report directly to Richard G. Couch, President and CEO of Visual Numerics, Inc. Assisting Minella in her expanded role will be a newly formed European Business Advisory Group consisting of David Lloyd (EVP Int'l Operations), Phil Fraher (EVP US Operations), Andy McClure (Corporate Controller) and Sanford Knapp (Diablo Management Group Consultant). Reporting to Minella will be Julien Tan and Matthias Glatschke, the Sales Managers for France and Germany respectively, as well as the UK Sales Manager and Channel Sales Manager once hired.

Minella brings over 15 years of diverse business experience in sales, banking, business development, and management consulting. Most recently, Minella co-founded Start Up Right, a company based in San Francisco that offered operational services to start-ups and fast-growth companies. Among her clients were Paine-Webber, Citibank, E-Offerings, Teraburst Networks, Virtual Learn, Accenture, Juno Online, and San Francisco Telephone. Minella earned her degree in Finance from the University of Illinois.
