Visual Numerics® Launches Online Discussion Forum
Self-Learning Knowledge Base Aids Users in Solving Technical
Problems, Gaining Valuable Data Analysis Insight
San Ramon, CA – October 11, 2005 – Visual Numerics, Inc.,
a leading provider of numerical analysis and visualization software,
today announced the debut of its interactive online discussion Forum.
The public Forum is designed for customers to learn from each others'
questions and answers about Visual Numerics' leading IMSL® Libraries
and PV-WAVE products, and for Visual Numerics to assist companies in
gaining more insightful knowledge to build advanced analytic applications
with sophisticated visualization.
For the last three decades, Visual Numerics has provided an email distribution
service for customers to exchange information about the company or its products.
However new interactive technologies allow customers to more easily share
questions with each other, network and benefit from each other's answers.
With the new online Visual Numerics Forum, located at
http://forums.vni.com,
users now have an intuitive interface for publicly posting questions or
answers about Visual Numerics products, distributing papers or announcing
relevant speaking engagements, getting tips, and learning about new
company announcements and events. The Forum also features a searchable
knowledge base that allows users to look for previous posts based on username,
or words in the post or subject header; and search for posts by date or by a
particular Forum theme.
"With our online discussion Forum, customers are really in the driver's seat.
As they use these discussion groups, the knowledge base of application
development and analytics information will grow organically, which means
everyone will obtain richer technical information over time," said Phil Fraher,
president and CEO of Visual Numerics. "In turn, Visual Numerics will
have a better idea about which topics are covered more frequently and
we'll be able to incorporate user feedback into future product development and Forum tips."
