Visual Numerics® Announces
Availability of PV-WAVE® 8.5
Industry’s Most Comprehensive Visualization Tool Features
64-bit Support,
New Math Functions and Online Help System
San Ramon, CA – September 20, 2005 – Visual Numerics Inc., a
leading provider of numerical analysis and visualization software, today announced
the general availability of PV-WAVE ® version 8.5, the
next-generation of the company’s industry-leading visual data analysis
software. Now engineers, scientists and business analysts in a broad range
of industries can use PV-WAVE 8.5 to build visual applications on a wider range
of platforms and perform analysis or data mining of large and complex data
sets to better understand trends, patterns and anomalies in their data.
These new numerical methods provide a wider range
of solutions for applications such as flight test engineering, predictive
modeling, budget forecasting and biological modeling.
- OpenMP for IBM AIX – OpenMP
2.0 support for most PV-WAVE array operations will be available in PV-WAVE
8.5. OpenMP offers users high performance shared memory and parallel computing
for large array operations.
- New Online Help and Documentation – PV-WAVE
8.5 contains a new online help system that integrates all manuals for the
entire PV-WAVE family to make searching for functions much faster.
"With this version of PV-WAVE, we're helping businesses at every technical
level to use sophisticated visualization and analysis tools to obtain even
faster, more accurate data analysis results," said Phil Fraher, president and
CEO of Visual Numerics. "This is extremely important as more organizations
are finding themselves in situations where they have to perform complex analysis
of high volume, multivariate data sets in order to understand their data and
make informed decisions. Going forward, we remain committed to providing our
customers with advanced visual data analysis capabilities for engineering,
research and business applications."
About the IMSL® Numerical Libraries
The IMSL Numerical Libraries have been the cornerstone of highly predictive and deep computing applications in science, technical and business environments for nearly three decades. These embeddable mathematical and statistical algorithms, written in C, C#, Java™ and Fortran, are used in a broad range of applications -- from programs that make airplanes fly and allow people to predict the weather, to those that enable innovative ways to study the human genome and predict stock market behavior. The IMSL Libraries are regarded as the most sophisticated, flexible, scalable and highly accessible technology available for numerical analysis in the most important mainstream programming environments in use today.
About PV-WAVE®
PV-WAVE® is an array based programming language used to build and deploy Visual Data Analysis applications. The PV-WAVE family of products, which includes PV-WAVE, TS-WAVE™, and JWAVE™, delivers engineers with the development tools to efficiently and accurately meet their data analysis needs. PV-WAVE solutions allow users to rapidly import, manipulate, analyze and visualize data.
The PV-WAVE family also includes robust time series analysis software as well as the ability to share analysis results across the enterprise with a Java-based solution. And, unlike other products, PV-WAVE Advantage includes a sophisticated set of analysis routines based on the industry-standard IMSL Libraries.
Pricing and Availability
PV-WAVE 8.5 is available immediately
on a number of operating systems including: Windows 2000/XP, UNIX, and Linux.
For single users, Windows and Linux pricing starts at $1,995 and UNIX and OpenVMS
pricing starts at $4,395.
