The second annual SD Times 100, which was published May 15, 2004, recognizes the leaders and innovators of the software development industry. Visual Numerics was named in the Components & Libraries category for the outstanding achievement of its IMSL Numerical Libraries.

According to publication editors, IMSL was chosen because of its mathematical and statistical functions as well as its ability to deploy to new chips and platforms.
