Visual Numerics Announces Availability of TS-WAVE™ 4.0 for
Advanced Time Series Analysis

New Features and Enhancements to Data Analysis Software Reduce Time and Cost of Implementing Customized Analysis of Time-Series Data

SAN RAMON, CA, June 24, 2004 -- Visual Numerics Inc., a leading provider of numerical analysis and visualization software, today announced the availability of TS-WAVE 4.0, the market-leading tool for the visual analysis of time-based data. The newest version of
TS-WAVE includes new features and enhancements that further reduce the time and costs associated with developing, testing, and maintaining time series and telemetry data analysis applications. With the addition of features such as ASCII-to-binary conversion, support for multiple pages in a single session, and the ability to import PV-WAVE® data, TS-WAVE makes it easy to develop complete, custom data handlers for reading and managing data, and features an unparalleled ability to handle large, proprietary legacy datasets.

TS-WAVE is a valuable add-on feature of Visual Numerics' PV-WAVE family of visual data analysis products. The solution offers a graphical development environment for building applications that visually represent complex time-series data, and it can be easily customized to handle proprietary data formats. TS-WAVE 4.0 now includes the most complete and reliable set of data management and display techniques for the visualization of time-based data, such as data collected in the aerospace industry for flight and range test analysis, and by satellite ground stations.

"Like most businesses, aerospace companies are continually seeking new ways to streamline and improve processes in order to stay focused on the real business of quickly processing huge amounts of data," said Phil Fraher, COO of Visual Numerics. "Visual Numerics has long led the industry in developing solutions for high-performance data analysis, and our newest TS-WAVE offering now provides the most powerful feature set available for time-based data."

New and Improved Features
TS-WAVE 4.0 includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • ASCII to Binary Converter: Enables users to convert an ASCII file to a general-purpose binary file and evaluate TS-WAVE without a custom data handler.
  • Multiple Pages: Enables users to work with multiple pages in a single TS-WAVE session, allowing them to share all data sources by all pages and create reports with pages in a single template.
  • Private User Resources: An option that allows users to control the default settings for the user interface, and provides users with a custom set of resources.
  • Tabular Files: Offers improved performance for writing tabular files, and has a greater ability to pick ranges of data to include in the tabular file, giving users more control of tabular file headers and format.

Additional features that enhance ease of use include advanced color handling, and an improved graph attributes interface. And, users can easily develop templates for standard reports as required by government agencies such as the FAA, and can interactively view data values on a selected graph.

Pricing and Availability
TS-WAVE is available now from Visual Numerics for the following platforms: Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux Red Hat 7.2 and 9.0, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, HP HP-UX, HP Tru64 Unix, and SGI IRIX. Pricing begins at $4,895 for a single end-user developer seat.
