PV-WAVE® Training

Whether you are an experienced PV-WAVE programmer; need to learn the idiosyncrasies of JWAVE; or you are a new TS-WAVE user, Rogue Wave's training team has the expertise and flexibility to meet your training needs. We offer both free and fee based training programs for our PV-WAVE Family of Products, which include introductory to advanced level classes, in a variety of formats. You may choose to attend one of our Free Web Seminars, view one of our On-Demand Tutorials, schedule a Training Class at our site or arrange for our trainers to come to your site, or you may want to attend a Web Class from the convenience of your own office. In addition, if one of our general programs does not address your specific training requirements, we can create a customized training program just for you.

FREE PV-WAVE Web Seminars

These seminars provide a great way to learn the basics of PV-WAVE. They are web based training sessions presented by an instructor. The schedule for the seminars depends on the number of registrations we receive. We will add your name to the list when you sign up and will get in touch with you when a seminar is scheduled in the time frame you have specified.

This is a free 90 minute web seminar.

High Quality Interactive Graphics with PV-WAVE and VTK

This free 60-minute web seminar shows how to get started using the PV-WAVE link to the Visualization Toolkit (VTK). It begins by demonstrating how to create simple interactive 3D graphics with the easy-to-use PV-WAVE wrappers to the VTK libraries and concludes by introducing techniques to directly access more complex VTK functionality.

Introductory Class

Prerequisites
Programming experience and knowledge of a text editor.

In this Introductory Class you will learn how to:

  • Read your data into PV-WAVE
  • Display it in numerous ways
  • Use the data analysis and array manipulation commands
  • Create and manipulate windows
  • Perform image display and image processing commands
  • Load and create new color tables
  • Write PV-WAVE procedures, functions, and programs
  • Use the full set of PV-WAVE manuals and class notes

Intermediate Class

Prerequisites
PV-WAVE Introductory Class or equivalent experience, including a familiarity with widget programming and experience in C or Fortran programming.

In this Intermediate Class you will learn:

  • How to create Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) using PV-WAVE Widgets

TS-WAVE User's Class

Prerequisites
None.

This half day class will teach you how to quickly navigate the TS-WAVE main window, quickly display your data and save the results in a variety of formats.

This class contains:

TS-WAVE Developer's Class

Prerequisites
TS-WAVE User's Class, Introduction to PV-WAVE or equivalent experience and introductory knowledge of Widgets and VDA Tools.

Learn how to use the PV-WAVE programming language to customize your TS-WAVE environment.

This class contains:

  • Customizing your Environment
  • Resource Files
  • TS-WAVE Architecture
  • TS-WAVE Data Handlers
  • TS-WAVE Data Structures
  • Data Handler Example
  • TS-WAVE User Functions
  • DM/GU Routines for User Functions

Cancellation Policy:

  • Attendees who cancel up to one month before the first day of a scheduled class will receive a full refund.
  • Attendees who cancel less than one month, but up until two weeks before the first day of a class will receive a 50% refund.
  • No refunds will be given to attendees who cancel less than two weeks before the class begins.

Please Note: If class registration has not reached the minimum number of students by two weeks before the first day of the class, Rogue Wave retains the right to cancel the class. If a class is canceled, we will give you at least 14 days advanced notice. We will refund any payments made to us for training, but we cannot be responsible for refunding travel expenses. Please be aware that any particular class may be canceled when you make your travel arrangements.


PV-WAVE Web Classes
Rogue Wave offers Web Based Training. This on-line forum allows you to learn in the convenience of your office with the interactivity of a classroom environment. Please see fee schedule below.
